Minimum Wage 2018 CAR 1 Ilocos
Minimum wage covering the areas of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan and Cities of Laoag, Batac, Vigan, Candon, San Fernando, Urdaneta, Dagupan, San Carlos and Alaminos has been updated per Wage Order No. RBI-19.
This was issued on 24 November 2017 and published on 10 January 2018 at The City Bulletin.
The Current Daily Minimum Wage Rates for Region I (Ilocos), Per Wage Order No. RB 1-19 which shall be effective January 25, 2018, is as follows:

Business establishments performing multiple business activities not separately registered with any appropriate government agency shall be determined in accordance with their dominant business activity.
It shall cover all workers/employees in the private sector receiving the minimum wage rates in the Region irrespective of positions, designations or status of employment and regardless of the method by which their wages are paid.
It shall not cover Kasambahay/Domestic workers, persons employed in the personal service of another including family drivers; and workers and employees of registered BMBE with Certificates of Authority pursuant to RA 9178, as amended.
The basis of minimum wage shall be for the normal working hours which shall not exceed eight (8) hours work per day. This Wage Order encourages the adoption of Productivity Incentive Program (PIP) which is a gain-sharing initiative.
Interestingly, if entities adopt the PIP this may be used to avail of the De Minimis Benefits item in Productivity Incentive Scheme of additional P10,000.00 per annum pursuant to RR 1-2015 and the productivity bonus under TRAIN Law to utilize the new 13th month pay and other benefits limit.
RR 1-2015 further amended RR Nos. 2-98 and 3-98, as last amended by RR Nos. 5-2008, 5-2011 and 8-2012, relative to “De Minimis Benefits”.
